Why did nobody tell me that Jonathan Safran Foer and Nicole Krauss were married? The History of Love has been one of My Favorite Novels Ever for nearly as long as Everything is Illuminated and Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close have been. Not only are both of these people exceedingly brilliant and good-looking, but they also have each made the effort to find someone as brilliant and themselves. That’s inspiring. Really.

Aren’t they cute?

I am will not be in Technicolor. I will not be in Greyscale. I will be in Black And White.

I am writhing now. I am bound by the limits of my humanity. I am tethered by reality. By my organicity. I am frustrated. The Human Headache.

I am pulsating. An ugly mass without shape or form. Brown and grey, red and green, hairy and looming and fetid. An impure organism lost in the abyss of white, lost in the pureness of Truth. I am not Truth. I am disgusting.

Lazy, ugly, stupid. I see so much more than what I am. I feel so much more than what I show. I am bound by my laziness, by my ignorance, by my incompetence. But not by my dreams.

I think people who kill themselves want to stop Living, but don’t want to stop Dreaming. They want to stop Needing but don’t want to stop Feeling. They are frustrated by their inability to be the people they wish they could be.

I will be strong. I will not waste time. I will change who I am wherever and whenever I see improvement.

I will learn. I will grow, I will evolve, mutate, create something pure out of the impurity.

I will not be subjective. I will be polite, but I will not be kind. I will not be selfish, but I will be self-serving. For Truth does no favors. Truth does not care who lives and who dies, who feels joy and who feels pain. Truth is only correct or incorrect. Right or Wrong.
