Sometimes I like to turn on the music from the scene “Buildings” of Einstein on the Beach. And turn it up, so that it’s really loud.

And cry.

I’m not going to settle for anything less than exactly what I want.

I’m not going to do a half-assed job on any project I undertake.

I’m not going to perform any piece that isn’t well-rehearsed.

I’m not going to publish a novel that I don’t think the universe of.

I’m not going to have sex with anyone I don’t really love.

I’m not going to love anyone I don’t really know.

This is final. This will not change.

I will not settle. For anything less.
